Z axis stopped working
« on: February 19, 2018, 06:48:01 AM »
Everything was working fine through several runs and then the z axis stopped working properly. x and y still work fine. I just replaced the power supply and this fixed it before. On the ports and pins page z axis is checked. Am I missing something?

Hi,
is the Z DRO still working?

Does your BoB have LEDs on the outputs and if they do are they working?

Could you swap the driver for say the X axis driver to see if the fault follows the driver?

Please see attached. The input signals current state number drops and then fluctuates. That's when it stops working.

Hi,
thats an input, does it really matter?

Clearly whatever is taking the inputs offline is doing the same with the outputs.

Does the Z DRO still work?
What about the Bob, do the output LEDs still show signs of life?
What about the DriverTest.exe, what does it show?

 Z DRO still working?  Yes

Does your BoB have LEDs on the outputs and if they do are they working? Yes and yes

Could you swap the driver for say the X axis driver to see if the fault follows the driver? How do I do this?

Hi,
are the drivers separate or all on one circuit board?

My suggestion is feed the Z axis step and dir pulses to the X axis driver and see how the X axis motor responds.
