I'm new to CNC and am having an unbelievable time try to V-CARVE. 

I seem to have NO problem with Profiling & Pocketing; I think I understand it.

Is there some sort of BOOK or VIDEO TUTORIAL that might help me?

Just to get started what BIT should I be using?

How can I tell whether I have a 60 degree or 90 degree bit?

Any pointed bit should give a result, a 90degree bit is easily identified as art will fit nicely in the corner of a set-square etc.

Make sure you tell Aspire or V-Carve what angle you are actually using.

Just want to add, VCarve Pro has documentation and they also have a wonderful User Forum for their products.  Besides the angle of the bit which Dave told you how to find, you also need the actual diameter of that bit.  The documentation for VCarve Pro is hidden as a PDF file in the Help Menu.

  Well it ticked me off every time I used the Help menu and it looked like a web page, I wanted something to read..... like a PDF and I asked for one on the Forum and was given directions on where to download at, when I find those directions and I have looked, I will post.

Here is a good starter video for V Carving. I will look for
a PDF, I know one exists as I have read it.

Ok Here is the answer I received on the Forum and wondering minds might say.....  sure that makes sense to put it under Single Page   >

You need to look a little harder. If you bring up "Help Contents" in the help dropdown, it brings up the help system which is a web-based form. At the bottom of the form is a row of items, one of which is "Single Page". If you click on "Single Page", you will then see another prompt at the bottom of the screen that says "PDF Version". If you click on that, then voila - you get all 392 pages of the manual in PDF format.


Do what I did download and then make a Shortcut on your Desktop screen.

Even with help it was hard to get.  Seems like they would want you to find it easily!  Guess not!

The shortcut on the desktop is a great idea.

The PDF is wonderful.  That is the way I learn, just reading and try something. Please do not make me watch a Video or read a webpage when in 30 seconds I can find my answer in the PDF.  VCarve Pro is what every program should be like, well written pretty easy to learn, yes it has some quirks but I love it.
