Hello from Another Newbie
« on: December 17, 2017, 05:02:03 PM »
I'm new here and brand new to CNC.

I survived a massive stroke and have lost the use of my right side.  I owned a graphics company for 20+ years and this seemed so natural for me.  Hobby & Therapy...no production.

I have found the design software extremely natural and the CAD work I was already experienced with.

I have an ACCTEK AKG6012, probably way more machine that I'll ever need but I did not want to buy a new machine every few years.

I hope to learn a lot here and get motivated by your posts.

Sorry in advance for all my questions, especially all the dumb ones.  They will get smarter...I hope!

Hi Tomcat104,

Welcome.

Ask as many questions on the forum as you like (it is your forum) and remember no questions are ever dumb.

Nice machine are you using VCarve Pro or what for design?

I'm using Vectric Aspire as my primary design software (early Christmas present).  I also use Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD, then import the designs into Aspire.  I have ArtCAM but feel Vectric is so much better & easier.

I'm in Charlotte, NC, where are you?

In Iowa the icebox of the USA at least this week end anyway.   Sounds like you have everything you need, and I am assuming your on the Vectric Forum, if not you need to be. Lots of ideas and good people.

Question: how do you operate your CNC with 5 coats on?

Don't know about having everything I need since I'm so new at this that I have no idea what-so-ever what I actually need.

STAY WARM!
