7766 / Mach4 Homing issue
« on: November 19, 2017, 04:31:46 PM »
Greetings. Noob & 1st time poster, please be gentle ;D I have a log file that states an error with Hicon so, I figured this would be the place to post.

I've recently finished my 1st cnc router. Mach4 has been set up, motors mapped, home & limits set. I'm able to jog, haven't initiated gcode yet.

I have, however, tried to home the machine only to come across some errors:

I have followed the instructions in the HiCON Mach4 Software Integration PDF file as well as DazTheGas's instructions on youtube to set up homing & limits...see the attached jpegs ( thanks, Daz ;) )

The final jpeg is from the Hicon Debug Window.

Would someone let me know what is wrong? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Does this only happen when referencing all axes?

Can you home one axis at a time?

Looks like you are running an outdated version of firmware and an older version of the plugin.

I've updated the plugin as well as Mach4 to no avail. Problem persists.

Happens when referencing 1 at a time and all.

The limits work fine. They all trip & stop motion, just won't home.

Any ideas?

You may need to upgrade the firmware on the controller. The latest release is 3.58

You can use the VSI Device Manager to upgrade the firmware on the controller

The software and instructions can be found on the Vital Systems web site

That was the issue. I'm a little embarrassed, but very appreciative. Thank you so much for your help! ;D
