Integra 7766, Mach4 and Leadshine (closed loop)

I’m ready to purchase all the electronics for the conversion of a bench top mill and I have some questions about the Integra 7766, Mach4 and closed loop.

To start with, the things that I care about now are true 3 axis and closed loop- also not having to eat dog food for a year ($) $:-\$
The next things I’d like to add in the future are 4th axis and spindle control.

The products (relating to my questions) I’m looking at now -

HiCon Integra 7766

Mach4

Leadshine easy servo (NEMA 24 M22430 & NEMA 34 M23440 steppers with integrated encoders)
Leadshine easy servo drivers x3 (ES-D808)

My questions are-

1- Is there an advantage to using a different driver (without the closed loop monitoring of the ES-D808) and passing the signals straight to the 7766?
1.1- If I use the ES-D808 is there a way to pass have the 7766 and/or Mach4 recognize the closed loop – would I have to re-home after an e-stop for example?

2- Will the 7766 handle the 3 encoder signals from the easy servos “out of the box” (no extra purchasing)?
2.1- Would purchasing INTG-CLOOP change the way encoder signals are handled by the 7766 or information sent to Mach4?

3- Am I missing anything?

Thank you for your interest in the Integra controller.

If using closed loop option, you dont need re-homing after estop.

The encoder from drives/motor must be differential TTL 5V type. You will need 7737 BOB to connect the feedback encoders from the drive. There is one diff. encoder on the unit also that can be used for spindle feedback.

If your drive/motor only provide single ended encoder signals, you can purchase/build single ended to differential modules.

For Spindle feedback, can you use ENC2 on J6 or must you use ENC1 on J11?

yes you can use ENC2 for spindle. only problem is that it is single ended and long wires to the spindle will corrupt the signal. short wires under a meter are ok. The differential encoder on J11 can go longer lengths.

ENC2 can only take 3.3v signals as it is directly coming form the FPGA pins. Any static discharge on these pins can kill the FPGA chip instantly.
