G/M code Library
« on: March 19, 2006, 09:16:48 AM »
Good Morning Brian, What do you think about setting up a G/M code library of code snipets for MACH users to use? It could be broken down into specific groups for the various types of users. If you contributed you would need to incliude a brief help file to explain what your code/program does. You could provide a Notepad Template to fill out for the help file.  Could be an Industry first!!!! Would be a great resourse for all..  Lets See,, The MACH 2/3/4 Resource LIBRARY. It has a good ring to it.

That would be a great idea if Benny could help. If a library could be set up we could use a Predifined page template and do a CUT and Paste approach to placing the code on the page. Just need a database type search engine for the help file notes, so you could search of a topic.

I think this would be a great idea. I am searching for G code examples to learn how to run my plasma table once it is set up.

Are you wanting a tutorial list or code to make parts,  I wrote a 'how to' guide that shows examples of the common G and M code uses.  If I can work something out with Benny then I am willing to publish this on the site.  Its about 50 A4 pages with diagrams, code and explanations.

Here are 2 pages from the guide (low res screen capture)

Edit:-  I have one for Lathe and one for Milling.

Graham:
I think what you have would be a great addition to this site!
I hope Benny sees this and figures out a good way to put your "examples" up for everyone to learn from!

Graham,
I am interested in learning some G code, just basics for now. I am building a large plasma/ oxy act. table  and would need to now how to make things work. I know there are programs that do the work for you (sheetcam) to Mack 3 but I think some knowledge would not be a bad thing. Benny, how about it!

Thanks for your reply.

If not, would you mind emailing this guide directley?  I'd like to start learning G code.

Thanks,
Greg
