I've looked everywhere...
« on: June 16, 2007, 09:26:35 PM »
Would someone please tell me how many inputs and outputs I can create using one or two ports.  We are looking to convert two Bridgeports from their old controls to Artsoft.  We have had experience with Camsoft and got the machine working but don't want to go there again... If you know what I mean.  Any help would sure be great.  Thanks in advance.

10 outputs and 5 inputs per PP card, unless one of them is a bidirectional then it will be 10 in, and 5 out.
If you need more I/O, use your modbus through a PLC, or Peters board, or Arturos boards.........
I use 2 PP's on my BP 2. Plus the modbus to run the tool changer.

Maybe we could convince ART to write a plugin for an I/O card like they use with data aqusition. A 24 or 48 or 96 channel i/o card would be very handy to interface a machine center that needs the I/Os for all the gizmos and gadgets they have. SAves on that Scripting stuff too.

Thanks for the information.  That should be enough to handle everything we will need to switch.  Regards, fatcat
