Mapping Galil axis to Mach3
« on: February 09, 2017, 12:23:37 AM »
Hi all,

I have found what I think is a bug in the Mach3 Galil plugin.  If I map Mach X axis to Galil X axis, Mach Y axis to Galil Y axis and Mach Z axis to Galil Z axis everything works great. But if I use the Galil Configuration >> Axis setup menu and map Mach X axis to Galil Y axis, Mach Y axis to Galil Z axis, and Mach Z axis to Galil X axis I get some very strange activity:

Whenever pressing the reset button, the Mach Y coordinates change to seemingly random values. If I disable Z axis completely in Mach3 the issue disappears.

I tried this with two different Galil cards, and had the same results. After searching the forums I don't know why I can't find others with the same problem?

I'm using mach3 version R3.043.066, and a Galil DMC-1880 PCI card.

I have not tried this, but that is not the only bug in ver 4.6. Read some of my other posts about using ver 4.6 with servos and encoders. Try using ver 4.4, if you need a copy, email me bbutcher85@yahoo.com.
