home position with respect to limit switches
« on: January 03, 2017, 01:43:10 AM »
hi to all.
i am new in CNC control field. i have develop a CNC router by myself and did the whole integration part by myself and interfaced with mach3.

my problem is that i want to implement the home position as in the big CNC machines which takes reference with limit swithes.

i want to........ as the axis touches limit switch, the machine should move to some specific mm back and then that position should become its home position.
dont want to implement the home switches because axis dont stop from home switches which cost me broken structure

Regards
Naveed

I don’t think it can be done exactly as you have described because the homing switch back-off distance is limited. There is a lot of reading to do but this should help…

1)   Section 4.5 of the Mach3 manual. http://www.machsupport.com/help-learning/product-manuals/
2)   The Coordinate System doc. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,33595.0.html
