third axis for lathe
« on: November 04, 2016, 03:05:59 PM »
About a year ago i posted a request for info on setting up a 3rd axis on a lathe
the purpose is for operating the tailstock screw for things like drilling or positioning
a running centre.

Anyone got any new ideas ? or maybe a screen

You may want to consider the  lathe set done by Phil....do  search as it has an A axis  which you could change A to Y and code accordingly.

Fred,
Here is the link. You'll also need to change  any button associated with A  to Y  also.

I have had such a @@##***  S^^T few days that it is quite a relief to
have a friendly and positive reply.

(The cause of the stress is nothing to do with CNC - do any of you have children who know everything-
wont take advice  and then when they mess up completely they blame their fathers for everything
from illegitimate children to bankruptcy and drug addiction?)

I feel your pain Fred.  My step-daughter blames her mother (my wife) for everything.  Done NOTHING but take advantage of anybody & everybody that got near her throughout her life.  She drained my wife & I's retirement down to almost nothing trying rehab, counseling & all kinds of support.  She finally  left mountains of debt & legal problems behind  & left our son-in-law holding the bag for everything.  She  left her own son behind & left the state hopefully forever.  The only reason she left is that my wife finally made the personal decision to turn her back on her and quit enabling.  Very painful for my wife but 25 years overdue.  We're now able to focus our efforts on helping to repair our young grandson's shattered life & keep him safe from his mother's warped reality.  Hopefully, some day she might reach bottom & come out the other side a better person.  I don't have much hope for that though.:(

A little off subject but some reflections:

You created them......What where you expecting?

Now you know where the expression "What have we done" cames from.

Parental education never stops. Experiences are all similar only it's just a matter of intensity and repeatition.

Patience....... most know everthing but as they age just can't seem to recall a lot of it.

Look up into the sky and ask " I know your testing me, good grief,
can't it be someting easy?.

Took all that time to make something just the way you wanted and now you don't recognize it anymore.

Stress reliever......Sit on your throne, it's simple things that
provide relief.

 :) ;) :D ;D :-*

Hi,
off topic also but I like it:

Probably not appropriate to giggle in face of serious family hurt.
