Finding the middle of a circle.
« on: May 28, 2007, 06:05:12 PM »

I have these 1" Dia. X 1" Long Plastic Peiced I mill a oval threw.  But the Oval has to be in the middle.  I think there is something in the offset page about finding the middle of a circle but I dont understand how it works.  So if someone can please show me how it works.  Pretty much all I want to do is use my electric edge finder to locate the middle of a round bar.

Thanks Eric,

There is a wizard for this, not used it myself but it looks straightforward enough.

I Dled the file.  But what do I do with the file?  I clicked on it and it said Wizard Installed.  But when I try and use it in mach3 it says file missing.  I might be doing something wrong.

It should be placed in your Mach 3 Root folder. Double click on the probe plug in while in the Mach Folder. It should place a Dll file in your plugins folder. You have a to go into ports and pins, inputs and enable Probe. and assign a pin. Reboot Mach and you should now see a 3d probing tab at the top beside the help tap.

I do not plan on using a probe.  I plan on using a Edge Finder.  I dont think this will work with a Edge Finder.

The wizard I am meaning is the circle centre wizard, it is quite possible that it is not included with the standard Mach instal but it should be on the ftp or the yahoo files if its not. I will have a look when I get home from work if you are not soted by then.

When I go to that wizard hood it looks nothing like that.  Any suggestions?  Maybe you have a higher verison than I do.  I will look around and see if can DL a high verison of this wizard.
