Problem with 0-10 V analog output VFD control
« on: July 19, 2016, 03:44:01 AM »
Hi.

I have a strange problem with 0-10 V analog output ( pwm PIN 17 ) on PoKeys 57CNC board.
I configured X, Y, Z, - works fine, then I conneted to relay 1 and 2 direction signals to VFD ( I activated M3 and M4 function to switch output #1 and #2 and mapped this output in Pokeys plugin to Relay outputs. ) this also works good. Then   connect 0-10 V analog output ( pwm PIN 17 ) to VFD and configured in Pokeys plugin config pin 17 in PWM output. I mapped this pin as DRO 817.

Strange things happen when a move X axis. When I move X axis in "+ direction" voltage measured 0-10 V analog output increases, when I move X axis in "i direction" voltage measured 0-10 V analog output decreases.

Does anyone know where the problem might be?

How do you power the PoKeys57CNC board?

External power supply 24 V DC conntected to  power supply conntecor.

PoKeys 57CNC board is connected with PC via USB port.

Did you move the power supply selection jumper to external power supply position?

Do you have GND and GNDi (isolated GND) connected? If these are connected, there is no galvanic isolation.
However, if you have those separate (as intended), did you measure the output voltage between the 0-10V output and the GNDi points?

GND and GNDi on PoKeys board are not connected.

Jak connect pin 17 PWM to analog input in VFD and GNDi to "Analog COM" in VFD

Yes, I measure output voltage between the 0-10V output and the GNDi points. This  voltage i changeed when I move X axis, but when I move Y or Z axis nothing happen ( which is good ).
Maybe problem is in Mach3 config or PoKeys plugin config ? Spindle Pulley, spindle controm i Mach 3 settings ?

Can you try disconnecting the axes from PoKeys57CNC and observe whether the same behaviour is observed?

OK.

Problem solved.

I think i I chosed DRO 817 but i still have DRO 202 - Spindle RPM ovveride.
I checked in Brain and in my Mach3 DR0 202 is "Spindle RPM ovveride" and olso is DR0 202 "X encoder reading corrected by offsets ". I dont knot why...
So it is possilbe to change value i 0-10 V output when I move x axis.

When i chosed DRO 817 and configured properly it works.

Thank for your time.
