nasty mach3 problem
« on: May 19, 2007, 12:47:48 PM »
Hi Art

Here i have a very nasty problem.
I made a file (aouterprofile6.tap) in Lazycam.
When i load this file in Mach3 and regen than i get a toolpath as in turn fout.jpg (watch the green zigzag line in the center of the screen)
When i zoom in and then move around Mach3 shuts down with no warning or whatsoever.
Also when i run the file (no machine attatched) Mach3 suddenly shuts down on no special point.
If i load first an other file and after that this file everything looks okay.
If i load this file on an other computer i get a toolpath as in fout2.jpg and everything works okay.
So i can not reproduce this error on another computer although it happend ones before on a other computer.
I can easely get arround this error but i think you like to know.

Greetings:
Willem

Thanks for the report, We will be looking at the turn code from Lcam in the next few weeks. We are working on getting Mill and Plasma done first.. There has been fery little testing done to the turn code :(

I think I am giving Mach3 some bad code and we will get this fixed
Thanks
Brian

Hi, Willem

Compare your Mach settings on your computer's, Look at Config, ports & pins, Turn Options, "Reversed Arc's Front Post" settings, Should be the same both computers.

Also check after running the same file on both computer's that, Config, General Config, that  "Distance Mode" is set to Absolute on your first computer.

Enter on the MDI line a G90 enter, then Regen the View on your problem Computer.

At present LazyCam is only posting G91.1 for IJ Inc. preamble setting's and not insuring that G90 "Distance Mode" is set to Absolute Mode.

G90 & G91 set "Distance Mode" ABS or INC.

G90.1 & G91.1 set "I,J" Mode ABS or INC.

Hope this Helps, Chip

Hi Chip

Thanks for your reaction
Have you attempt to load this file?
If you did i bet you did not see the thinks that the screenshots shown.
I think (if i look to the green zigzag line) that a sort of loop is created between the bits and bytes in the computer.
If i change a X value on line n25 for instance everything is ok.
I just loaded the same file here on this computer and here all is absolute ok so shoot me.

Hi Chip

I had this on version 2.0.065 but also on a previously version.
The funny thing is that different computers give a different result.
The topview (fout2.jpg) you mentioned (with the funny curls) did occur on a pentium 3 xp system.
The same file on a pentium 4 xp system or a amd athlon xp gives a normal view.
But you say you could not reproduce the topview (fout2.jpg) but other view (turn fout.jpg) , did you repoduce thatone?
As far i can see it is totaly unpredictable where and when it occurs.
This is one of those things way i never never never would be a programmer and thats why i have a deep respect for people ho can handle this problems.
