Why the heck would they lock the button from inside the box?

i swear that stuff from china is hard to understand they send stuff with hardly any direction like were all smart lol then you email them all broken english like here in america there is millions of chinese your telling me there is not one person that speeks english there to work for them helping us with there items who knows lol

i double checked my cnc 3040t paper yess its hard to read but i tried to trace over it but STEP #3 Reads open the control box power stepper motor will be self locking motor will not run until done..

HMM.... maybe to keep people who do not read instructions or know what they are doing from hurting themselves.......

I think point two is the only good one

In the litigious world we live in, selling a piece of electrical equipment that requires you to delve inside the control box before using it would likely be deemed illegal.

Bear in mind these are hobby machines, industrial stuff would be a different kettle of fish, but then you would likely get instructions in English

I have a sneaky feeling that this (safety) bit of plastic is a necessary part to stop the switch internals falling apart when the Chinese assemble it to the front panel of the controller case.
Why waste their time and money removing it when you can leave that for the end user to do (some will believe them when they say it is a safety device).

Having opened the box, there doesn't appear to be anything to remove/release (but not being an expert in such things, perhaps someone will correct me on this).

That stop button action looks normal to me.

To rule it out just disconnect the wires (power off) and short out and insulate then test it - this will remove the button from the problem.
