unable to make a barrell shape with OD3 wizard
« on: January 27, 2016, 11:49:57 AM »
I have tried to implement a barrell with the help of the OD3 wizard for turning.
I wanted to make a barrell shape from a 70 mm long cilindrical piece with a diameter of 34 mm.
The rounding of the barrell should be by a rdius of 100 mm.

Unfortunately it gives a failure to implement this because it seems that the max radius of the wizard OD3 is only half the length which means not bigger then 35 mm.

it is unclear to me why this is so restricted since a barrell form should be possible to implement.

Anyone has a solution for this??

kind regards,
Andre Roest

One would think that it would use a MIN of 1/2 teh length as it is impossible to do less as a barrel shape.

Just a thought, (;-) TP

The Od3 wizard is not  part of the newfangled suite, so I really dont  know anything about it. but it must be written in VB, and its all there for you to look at and change in any way you like.

i tried lazy turn but that does not work for me.(no postcode made)

Kind regards,
Andre

Just a comment about the Wizard OD Arc 3.

I am guessing that the wizard intent was not to provide for creating code for a profile, rather a reasonable standard shape.
