Motor Tuning and Setup A-Axis

Hello All,

I have just received a new Rotary Axis for my DIY built CNC router.  I am needing help with the motor tuning setting for Mach3 for it.

I need:
Steps per:
Velocity:
Acceleration:
G's:
Step Pulse:
Dir Pulse:

Here are the specs:
Rotational Axis:

With K12 100MM 4 Jaw Centring Chuck
Center height:65MM
Total height:115MM
Motor:Nema23 2-phase 57 stepper motor
Motor Electric current:3A
Motor Voltage:3V
Motor Holding Torque: 1.35N/M
Step Angle: 0.3degree/step
Reducing ratio:6:1(Timing belt deceleration mode)
Synchronous belt:3M
Weight:8KG

Use the step calculator in Members Doc's to find the steps per unit which is in degrees. Here is the link:

Velocity, acceleration is by trial and error. start low and work your way up until it skips and then reduce by approx. 30%.
See the drive manual for recommended step and direction pulse settings.

You can use the axis calibration feature , Settings ALt 6 tab lower left corner of the screen, to check the steps per unit.

The spreadsheet was awesome!

With a little tweaking on the machine after calculation, worked like a charm!
