Axis DROs move and gantry / spindle does not
« on: July 10, 2015, 04:37:40 PM »
After starting my code, my Z axis  readout starts to change in the positive direction. it adds 2.5 inches instantly to the DRO and does this consistently. So when i start my code my spindle is 1.5" off work face, i hit go and within the first 10 lines the DRO jumps 2.5 inches in one step. Now it thinks its at 4.0 and when it goes down to cut, it is cutting int the air. i have loaded a Auto Z touch plate and thought the error was associated with that item but even when i don't use the touch plate the errors are added. My system also when commanded to move in x or y axis will occasionally move in the digital read out and not physically move. Any ideas.

This is a new system and it sometimes works if i fake the dimensions by subtracting 2.5 from the actual value so when it starts i have  a good value.

Most likely a G43 length offset in your g-code.
