Configuring encoders
« on: June 30, 2015, 11:53:58 PM »
Hello everyone,

I was wandering if theres anyone who's running Mach 3 closed loop, I've got a Kondia FV1 mill I recently converted to 3 axis but in the set up for ports and pins it asks me A port# and A-pin# as well as Bport# and Bpin# is there anyone who can offer some guidance on this matter?

Mach3 does NOT do closed loop controll. You would have to close the loops at the drives or outside controller.

This window is in the Encoder?/MPG's tab

Thanks for the reply BR459, exactly how do I go about closing the loops? I think my lack of experience is starting to show.

You have to close the loop at the outside controller where the Encoder feedback goes to the controller and IT closes the loop  OR user a servo drive that has feedback control where the encoders feedback to the drive to close the loop.
