Trouble getting Mach to run anything.
« on: April 26, 2007, 02:01:32 PM »
Hey guys.
Just trying to setup a new system using Mach 3. My router machine is using an older version of Mach 3. It is working fine and running sheetcams g code without a hitch.
My trouble is getting new versions and even some of the older versions of mach 3 to run the same g code on just the computer. (New)
It gets down a few lines and stops and won't progress. I can't get the dro's to move. This is also using the ini file off my other system and the same gcode. I have been over this many times installing and uninstalling different versions and ini's and trying different codes. I am out of things to try.
Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch in advance. I know I am overlooking something.

Here are a couple of sample codes I am trying to run.

Well, I just ran a driver test and my computer does not seem to be pulsing at all.
I checked the jog at the keyboard finally and there is no show in DRO's.
Diagnostics also show no pulses. I find it odd that that wasn't more obvious to me.  ;)

So, how do I get this thing to show or start showing pulses?

Hi, Lee

I just loaded both your files,Thay seem to run fine for me, Using Mach3R2.00.066 hear.

I think it may be that there are no Preamble in your code to switch you back into IJ, INC Mode G91.1 (IJ, INC) from IJ, ABS G90.1 (IJ, ABS).

Add G91.1 after the G90 line, Not on the G90 line though, Or enter G91.1 on MDI Input line.

Hope this is It, Chip

Thanks Guys.
I did look at the pulse engine and it was only the one. Did another reinstall after uninstall. The engine is working properly according to Windows.
I ran another driver test.
Here is a capture of the result.

Thanks also for verifying that the code does work.
The multiple part code actually runs great and exactly like I need it to for removing fixture screws after the cutting is done. Then I just send it home and remove the remaining screws. Then start all over.
The other code is actually a part that will get cut on a plasma cutter I'm building. It's only setup fr a mill at this point and not even correctly with the right dimensions and things. I was trying to use it to run mach. Obviously with no pulsing on this computer, Mach can't do much.
Thanks a bunch. How do I fix the pulse engine?
Is there something I have to switch in the Bios?

I did run another driver test on some of my other computers. The Laptop that I can't use because of port issues did okay. The computer on my router has a nice small line with very few spikes and only short ones then. This main desktop just doesn't have any lines and shows no pulses. Kinda odd.

I did switch the parallel port modes in the Bios between the three types. SPP, EPP and ECP. Default was SPP.
No difference in the pulse tests er driver test.

I did find the specialdriver.bat in the Mach3 folder. Ran it and viola. Problem solved.
I did find the answer on this forum after a couple searches. This computer is a P4 Celeron D 3.47 GHz in case other have a computer that doesn't seem to generate pulses. This is just my desktop and won't be running any machines. This is just for testing code.
Thanks a bunch, guys.
