Setting Mach 3 withe chinese bob
« on: May 22, 2015, 06:43:26 PM »
My first cnc project , its a scaled up version of the chinees 20/30router.
It is working fine but the following is puzzling me.
Y & Z are set to 80 steps and the X to 320.
All the motors and dip settings are the same also the screw pitch(lead)
The slides are moving as D.R.O.
Am i missing somthing

if your stepper drives have dipswitches, re flip them.  I have found that sometimes they do not rock all the way and make the connection.

your Y and Z seem a bit low.  Ok alot low.  I am assuming that you are in metric native units.   What pitch are your lead screws?  1.9 degree steppers?  and micro stepping of the stepper drives?

Go to the Settings screen and click on Set Steps per Unit (bottom left).
Follow the instructions and repeat for each axis - this should tell you the correct steps per unit you should have set in Motor Tuning for each axis.

Tweakie.
PEACE

Tweakie,  it has been years since I have used the default screen set....... I totally forgot about that setting.  Wow.... relearned something today.  I always have done it manually.  I guess I am a control freak.
