Suggestions for tool offsets and Hi
« on: April 20, 2007, 03:58:04 PM »
First of Id like to say Hi as I’m new to the group and then If someone could suggest the best forums to answer my Questions

The software tools I have are Auto cad 2004  Mach3 lazycam pro and the NFW

The machine I’m using /building/converting is a Clausing Kondia f1
X and Y axis complete Z axis to do

I did a drawing of a doughnut in auto cad and then set the cut depths in lazy cam and the cut in mach 3 when the cut is done yes you guessed it’s the wrong size by the amount of the tool diameter

I have now brought lazycam pro

But before I start again Id like some help if you can

I must say that the whole software set up is great (lazycam  mach 3 ) keep up the good work

Thanks Andrew Bishop England

Hi Andrew, cant really answer your question as I have not had time to mess with LazyCAM yet but there is a sub forum specifically for LazyCAM. If you dont get answers here it might be worth posting again.

Great, really pleased to hear they are working for you. When I got the Bridgeport I started it and jogged the axis to make sure everything worked then stripped it all out and fitted the smaller(physical size) steppers I already had.  I think I remember you saying you were going to remove the outer case from the steppers, did you do that? Also what drives are you using?
