Galil DMC1842 and soft limits in mach3
« on: April 24, 2015, 03:00:16 PM »
I am using Mach3 and a Galil DMC1842 econo pci board to retrofit a tree 325 3axis mill.  I have home switches only and was hoping to use the soft limits function of Mach 3 to limit table travel.  My problem is that
the table goes right past the limits that i have set in the soft limit configuration.  Does the Galil board support the soft limits feature.  I would think that most of the soft limits feature would be Mach software.  I have
checked the hard limit feature with a jumper wire from fwdlimy and that works fine.  Just was hoping not to have to mount more switches. Any one using this board with Mach3? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Don,

I have not gotten that far with my setup yet but I did download Galilsuite and it has softlimits for all the axis.  I'm getting ready to try that phase of my project soon.  Let me know how it works for you.
