OLD SERVOMOTOR REUSE IN MACH3
« on: March 22, 2015, 05:00:20 PM »
I would like to wish to retain my old servomotors during retrofitting my heavy mazak machines.Mazak VQB 20/50 AND MAZAK SLANT TURN 40 1500 ETC.

these actuators operate with a tachometer and resolver had thought this an appropriate (modern) encoder and driver to find, so they can be controlled by eg a lab CSMIO cs / IP module A
link http://www.cs-lab.eu/en/produkt-7,2-CSMIOIPA_Ethernet_Motion_Controller__10V_6_axis_with_connectors.html

the servo would between 1.2 - 2 Kw are ...

will post some pictures of the available materials, from Mazak you should know that there is to gather enough information ... I have no wiring diagram or other data vd servomotors

like your help
thx

If the servo drives can accept +/- 10v then yo will almost certainly be able to use them in conjunction with the motors you have.
Regarding feedback to the IP-A , the servo drives may well have an output that simulates a 5v ttl encoder, if it does then you should have no problems. If the signal is other than 5v ttl then you could fit an encoder to either the motor or the ballscrews so that you can then feed that back to the IP-A.

You said
Mazak VQB 20/50

Is that correct? I just did a quick Google and could only find VQC

I know I have some manuals for a VQC at home that I scanned for a friend but not sure what size it was, will look this evening .

Hello HOOD,

I was wrong indeed ...

it should be: VQC 20 / 50B

Do you have any data on that? Or is the same old servomotors 30/50?

grtz

ps I have no manual:-(

I have no idea whether it is the same or not. I borrowed the manuals from a neighbour so that I could scan for a friend that had a VQC 20/40. I think the two machines were similar as he certainly managed to get things sorted.

No, he used the original Mazatrol control.

I have sent you a PM with some links to the pdf's on my cloud, not sure if you will manage to download or not as I have never tried before.
