Cut Type/Infeed type
« on: April 11, 2007, 03:47:15 AM »
In the MachTurn 'Turn' options can someone tell me what the 'cut type' and 'infeed type' numbers mean and are these used by the threading wizards or the G76 that is implemented in mach3?

Thanks,
Terry

Normally its the threading that uses these type of controls (G76)

If its the threading then the infeed type is constant depth or variable depth (cuts get smaller as it gets to the bottom of thread)

cut type is centre cut, left flank, right flank, or zig zag.

OK, but how do these options relate to the numbers that one enters into the Turn Tab? The defaults are both zero in the default profile. What number do I set in to get a right flank cut, etc. ? The documentation doesn't seem to address this. Thanks - Terry

Never tried it but if its set up as standard ISO g-code then cut type is

2 is flank cutting with constant depth

4 is zig-zag
