monitor current and voltage used with pokeys
« on: February 18, 2015, 03:37:46 AM »
Hello,

I'm assembling new CNC control electronica using pokeys57E and the CNCAddon.
Would be great if it were possible, using some sensors like ACS712 and current divider to monitoring the inlet 220V AC in and the current used and the 68VDC trasformed and levelled and the current used by the motor drivers.

I know that some sensors for Arduino are suitable for pokeys and there is the possibility to write a Vbasic code to do it.

But I'm not very skilled to do it myself.

Someone has already done or can help me?

I put a picture of my new control box in assebling.

I would strongly suggest to avoid measuring the AC voltage directly. The current is another story - there is a lot of galvanically isolated current sensors that can be directly connected to PoKeys's analog input. ACS712-based current meter would only require a simple voltage divider to lower the voltage from 5V to 3.3V that PoKeys is using.
