Lathe Tool Turret
« on: February 09, 2015, 03:13:55 PM »
Hello Folks, I'm playing with a spare Emco 120 tool turret. I would like to change the current DC motor to a stepper motor. I have the mechanics figured out and even have a macro for it. My question is .... what axis do I use to run it ?????

thanks
pete

It will likely be best to use one of the rotational axes as you can then use roll over, then again all depends how you have done the macro. Other than that I do not think it would make any difference which axis you choose.

Thank you Hood for the quick reply. If I were to use the rotational axis and using angles, would it be possible to reverse the movement of the turret a bit to snug up against the pawl in the turret. Being that this is an EMCO turret.

 Again Thank you :)
