4 axis CNC Foam Cutter Issue
« on: September 12, 2014, 02:01:59 AM »
I am running the latest version of Mach3 with a 4 axis CNC foam cutter.  I am cutting tapered foam wings using Profil2 to generate the code.

When I cut a tapered panel such that the larger end is to the left (x/y axis), everything goes smoothly.  All four axis respond smoothly.

When cut the same panel with the large end to the right (A/B), then I run into issues.  During this cut, the right horizontal axis will suddenly accelerate to large values and then return to the ordered 6 ipm feedrate. It will happen several times during the cut.  If I turn Constant Velocity off, the problem disappears.

Has anyone else seen this behavior or knows of a solution?

Cheers,

Adrian
