Y axis moves randomly if keybord arrow pressed
« on: April 14, 2014, 03:39:11 PM »
I have mach3 running for 3 years with no problems - until now:

when I want to move the Y axis (left or right) with the keybord (arrow up/down) it moves randomly in a direction.
The same when I use the home button on the mach screen it moves randomly in a direction mostly the wrong one.
when I press the same keybord arrow twice (or more) the Y axis moves randomly

I checked the hardware, limiting switches, cables, connectors, even swapped the geco motor drives - no luck

Any idea how to check if mach3 is causing it

Hans

I too have been running mach3 for about 3 years without problems and now my X drive will only move in one direction, no mater which direction I tell it to go, it always moves the same way. I too swapped out my geco motor drives- no luck. Can you help with the solution. Thank you.

I solved it - there was a faulty motor connector.
It sometimes made contact and sometime it did not - causing the strange behavior.
