Syil X7 and Mach 3
« on: March 18, 2014, 08:11:37 AM »
I have a syil x7 cnc milling machine which has stopped working.
I have not used it for six months due to illness
I load Mach 3 and use the profile which I was supplied with by Syil,(attached below) I then load the smart stepper and then cannot clear the Estop, if I activate the actual machine e stop and reset it I can then clear the estop in Mach 3 however if I run any G code the machine does not operate at all.
I confess to being a complete novice with cnc so please treat me gently but I really need some help

Can you attach your xml please as likely your settings are different from that one.

Thank you for your response - the xml file I use is as the one I posted - this is the one given to me my Syil
I load this and then Mach 3 asks me about the smoothstepper  and I load that - then nothing happens

That does not seem to be the correct xml as there is no reference to the Smoothstepper in it.
First shut Mach then go to your Mach3 folder and look for the file with your profiles name and a xml extension and attach that.

This is the xml file from the Mach 3 directory, There are of course 2 other xml files -one labelled Mach 3 turn and the other Mach 3 mill - but I am assuming that these are not the ones you need
Thanks

The differences between the profiles are small and there are not any that should stop the machine running.
I am of course assuming it was running fine before you installed the SmoothStepper?

I have reloaded everything -Mach 3 - the syil profile and the smooth stepper driver and hey presto it all works
There must be a gremlin in my computer
Thanks very much for your help and pointing me in the correct direction
