Machined an Iphone 5
« on: February 09, 2014, 07:24:02 AM »
machined an iphone5 just as a bit of a fun project

I blacked the engraving on the back to make it stand out more

then I got pressured to put it on ebay by some friends lol

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281262248062?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649

the details on how it was made

I first borrowed a friends phone and drew an exact copy in autoCAD, then I used cambam to generate the code then mach3 to machine.

ive got a denford triac vmc, with 6 station atc and coolant flood

hope people like my project

Very well done.

Do you have to wear an aluminum foil cap for protection when you use it?  ;D

Well, at least it is more durable than my phone!!
How hard is it to play "Angry Birds" on it?  (***taking my own tin-foil hat off now***).

VERY, VERY nice work, what kind of engraving tip did you use?

Andy this would have to be the coolest and most funky project I have seen for a long time. Hey. What would a New Zealand CNCer have to do to get his hands on the drawing so he can make one?

Would make a nice case or case halves if you could get a real phone inside it.

Willing to share the code?

thanks, john
