Hi all
I want to connect my joystick, +-10v, to the system but I seem to have a mental block on getting it done!!
it is currently connected direct to the servo drives via isolating relays so that it does not interfere when the PC.. and Mach have control. Works fine as a pure manual system but it causes Galil/mach to error because the motors can run without without signals from the controller, ie creates a position error as far as the controller can see.

I know I need to use the 8 input pins and have some sort of a code written but I am stuck.

Can you give me a step by step guide to getting it working

Thanks John

John,

You are pretty much hosed because there is nothing in that setup that will synch Mach and Galil after the position change from the joystick.

The best way to handle this is to run the joystick anaolgs into some analog inputs and use a brain file to convert the signals into velocity jogs.  This way Mach/Galil are aware of it.
