mach w/ galil plugin and z plunge
« on: September 19, 2013, 04:58:42 PM »
i have a machine that i am adapting to run mach3.  i have the x and y running great but my z axis is a air cylinder that is either up or down.  i have been messing with this for a while and i cant figure out how to get the z to plunge.  it is relay controlled and i was wondering if there is a way to make it use the cylinder anytime there is a negative z command?  i dont know if i am explaining this correct or not.  this machine is actually a router.

May be possible to use a Brain which looks at the  Z axis DRO, you could then use a formula to operate outputs depending on the value in that DRO.

Thanks for the response.   Sorry but I am pretty new to this and was wondering if you might be able to provide a link or explanation on how to download this?

Brains are integral to Mach, you can start to Make one if you go to Operator menu in Mach then Brain Editor.
You should also be able to find a video introducing Brains on the Mach website.
