Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to rotate my file by 90 degrees when it has been loaded into mach3?

You should be able to use a G68 code to speceify the center of rotation and number of degrees.

Or you can go to the MDI tab in Mach3 and enter 90 or -90 in the Local System Rotated" screen.

Don't forget to regen the screen to see the result.

Hi
Thanks, I just tried that.  Before the alteration, the file is positioned in the top right of the crosshairs, when I alter it to -90 in the MDI tab, it moves it to the bottom right of the crosshairs.  What difference will this make?

It sounds like you locate your jobs from one corner, which I do not do, so I'm guessing you will have to compensate for that. Just be sure to do an air cut before actually cutting so that you can be sure it will do what you like.

I  wonder if this MDI could be used to correct for router tables where the gantry is possibly out of square? I never feel confident that my gantry is properly aligned and it would be nice to compensate for the misalignment.

I use MachStdMill and a 3D probe, which allows me to easily determine the position and angle of edges of my work piece. I could mount the work piece, determine the angle of one side, and enter it into this DRO and let Mach compensate for the misalignment.

Does anyone know if this value is tracked as part of the work offsets (g54, g55, etc.)?

I do not know about that at all, and frankly, it's asking for trouble (in my opinion, of course).

Why not just figure out if it's square and shim if needed? It's a pain, but worth it to know everything is aligned.
