Spindle speed problem - HELP!!
« on: July 13, 2013, 06:04:26 AM »
I'm new to the world of CNC and recently bought myself a RoboCutters EagleIII CNC Machine.

I set up the machine and steppers work perfectly, motion fine, runs G-Code perfectly... HOWEVER, after a few tests, I noticed the spindle running louder than desired - the spindle seems to run at max speed, or not at all. Changing the spindle speed inside mach3 does not change anything.

I have tried autocal on the spindle and it goes through all different speeds - so I know that mach3 can drive the spindle at different speeds, but when the autocal is finished, nothing changes and I still cannot change the spindle speed.

The spindle is 1.0kw 24000 RPM 400Hz.

The control box is fitted with a VFD made by Xinfutai - 1.5kw 200V.

I know that the VFD, the breakout board and mach3 all work, and are all talking to each other (because autocal runs the spindle at different speeds).

I am unsure what to do now.

Please help!

You would really have to say what spindle controller you are using, or post a link to such info, for anyone to be able to help, also attaching your xml would be a good idea.
