encoder z as axis home
« on: July 07, 2013, 06:28:10 PM »
hi, i picked up a milltronics partner 2.  i am converting it to mach3 setup.  it has a,b,z encoders on all axis. i want to setup the z channel as the home reference.
any ideas on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

All depends on what hardware you have, Mach itself can not do it.
I have done it in several ways on different machines.
First was I used a breakout board that would delay the home switch signal back to Mach until the index was seen. Sadly these breakout boards are no longer made so you would have to design one yourself if you went that route.

I have also used the Index homing feature of my servo drives to do it.

Now I am using CSMIO/IP-A and S controllers from CS-Lab and they can do it.
