PoKeysU and optocoupler encoder
« on: July 02, 2013, 07:37:32 PM »
I would like to connect "encoder" to PoKeys but enclosed manual is very limited. I tried to find something more detailed about that, but without any special success.

I shortly explain what I need.

I have no special encoder but I would like to use 2 optocouplers sending quadrature signals using encoder weel. I’m not sure if PoKeysU can use that signals from mentioned 2 optocouplers directly, or do I need additional electronics which convert signals from optocouplers into 2 independent signals for both directions independently (something like encoder quadrature decoder)?

Thanks for every help.

Hi, Maciej

As we answered you to your email question, PoKeys already has multiple quadrature decoders built-in. You only have to connect encoder A and B (logical) signals. Make sure that you provide a proper signal to PoKeys device - clear signal transitions between 0 and 3.3 (or 5) V.
