Import dxf not in 'File' drop down menu
« on: May 20, 2013, 11:05:36 AM »
I only have;
- load gcode
- lazy cam
- entib
- close files
- exit

Do I have to load a plugin or wizard or something else?
The manual in section 8 indicates I need to go to load file import dxf,  but don't have that option,

Any ideas out there?

Machine runs fine,  wizards and all else that I have tried works ok but no dxf.

Please help,

Regards,

DarylS

The ability to import a drawing and generate gcode from it was removed with the introduction of Lazycam which died in beta and is no longer supported.  If you need to generate Gcode from drawings you will want to look for a cad/cam package such as Vectirc, bob cad/cam or others.

Hi Daryl,

Open LazyCam then open your .dxf there.

There is a LazyCam manual in Members Documents which gives details of it's use. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,12078.0.html

Tweakie.

Edit; As Brett has said LazyCam is basically dead and there are much better CAD/CAM products available but it works OK for simple .dxf drawings but the more complex they become the longer it takes to complete the job.
