Ethernet-Smoothstepper not work
« on: April 18, 2013, 09:46:39 AM »
Hi Guys,

i bought a new CNC-Mill machine with SMC-TR-1000 Controller.
It have 2 connect options: USB and DB25.
Under USB i work with Frontplattencreator.

I would like to use Mach3, so i bought Ethernet-Smoothstepper and configured with Manual and connected to DB25-Connector.
I entered the DB25-Interface Pins in Mach3 about X/Y and Z Steppers and saved it.

Mach3 recognizes the Smoothstepper and the LED´s shine but when i started a test NC-Program nothing moves.
Does anyone know why it not works?

The Seller says that the Controller works with Mach3 under DB25 so the problem is by the Ethernet-Smoothstepper...

Thanks for Help

I spent the last 16 hours playing with my new ESS and I finally have it running nicely. It is definitely not "plug-n-play", but what cnc gizmo is. I had to download the "configurator" and I turned my firewall off. Check out the troubleshooting guide. I was scratching my head and my rear for a couple of hours and had to turn everything on and off about a hundred times, but eventually it came up and seems to work well.

Are you able to come out of E stop or reset? :)
