 ;D
This will be a test of true noise immunity for the -M.
All of the high voltage is running up the left side only. All signal conductors are in the other ducts.
My only real fear is that the MoBo might pick up noise, particularly from the VFD.
Brett and I were discussing this the other day.
Take a look if ya don't mind. You see what I mean now, Brett.
Do you think I stand a chance ? ? Or do you think I should plan on a separate enclosure just for the control stuff ?
Just trying to get by with what I had on hand. (them dang enclosures ain't cheap  :P ) Might have to find one of Brett's dumpsters  ;D
Thanks for looking and any comments.
Russ :)

Looks real good to me Russ.  :)  I will be suprised if you dont have some problems with noise from the VFD for sure.  But, if you can try it like that and then adjust if needed I'd give it a try.
;D If you could see the things I have in my head, you would be laughing too. ;D

My guard dog is not what you need to worry about!

I dont think you will have a problem but if you do just junk the VFD and get a servo ;)

Thanks guys, I'll go with it then.
Dang, I'd sort of hate to need a servo as the vfd is just for the spindle. But, it would give me more room at the machine as the current motor is in a tight spot.

Thanks again men,
Trials coming up soon,
Russ

Just a spindle? Thats almost as important as an axis ;D
I have servos on all my spindles, dont think I could face having to use a VFD again :D
