DRO INCREMENT WHILE AXIS IS STATIONARY
« on: April 15, 2013, 07:02:15 PM »
I am having a problem with MACH3 and it is driving me crazy.

I have referenced all axis and they are correct and all move to zero

My problem is that when I program a

n06 G73 x0 y0 z-0.4 q0.125 r0.1 f6
n07 x1

The machine will drill the first hole correctly but will not move to x=1.000
The X axis DRO increments as if the axis was moving but there is no motion.

I can Jog the X axis via the MPG.

If I MDI the command g0 x1.000
the machine will not move the X axis.

MY skill set is old world and I am 71 so my thinking is there is something wrong
with MACH in the settings.

Can you attach your xml and I will check your config, sounds a strange one.
Also how are yu calling that move? is it via a file you have written? If so please attach also.

You say your axis is moving via MPG but you dont have one set up in your xml? Is this some sort of external MPG connected to the hardware or are you meaning the flyout page in Mach?
Do your axis move to home when you press RefAll button?

I am using a screen set from VISTaCNC and their MPG.  I will send you the Screen set via your e-mail.

Ok does your X axis move when you press RefAll? Does it move when you command a move from MDI? Does it move when you command a move via a G Code file?
Really what I am getting at is, does your X axis move at all other than via that pendant?

When I use the command REF ALL all axis's move and the machine DRO's read 0.000.

When I MDI a x axis movement the system does not work.

The only time it moves is when I ref all or use the pendent.  When I MDI Go x1.0 it does not move.

Ok unplug your pendant and restart Mach and see if it still does not respond to MDI or Jogging via keyboard.

I just went out to the shop and tried what you suggested and "NO JOY".  In fact now the machine would not REF ALL or even move with the PENDENT.  I SeEM TO BE MOVING BACKWARDS N

If you unplug the MPG then it wont move with it so thats expected.
I have tried here with your xml and it works fine. I can command a move to any position from MDI and it does it, for example I type G0X1 in MDI and hit enter on keyboard and axis will move to X1, type G0X10 and it will move to x10 etc.
I also MDI'd the G73 you posted above and it too works as expected.
So as far as I can see there is not an issue with your xml and that seems to suggest it is the pendant that is causing you issues.
Ok with the pendant unplugged, restart Mach then press Tab key, on that screen press the Jog mode button so that it is on Constant, then try and jog the axis via your keyboard arrows, does it move?

TRIED YOUR IDEA and again no JOY.  I am beginning to believe I may have a computer related problem.  I now cannot get the machine to reference all or any other motion.
