Dwell / Pierce time with Plasma
« on: March 19, 2013, 07:59:58 PM »
I have just got my new cnc plasma table up and running, I have made a few cuts but have noticed that my plasma is not delaying for the pierce time. I am setting the pierce time in Bobcad24 as a second or fraction of - I tried bumping it up to 2 seconds but still no change - I am confident that it is something that I have to set correctly in the Mach 3 program - any advise or help would be appreciated. I am also running a THC on the plasma. ???
Thanx Jon

:)That was it - I unchecked the G04 Dwell and now have my pierce time but my Z now goes all the way to the top and hits before it comes back down and fires and upon ending goes all the way up and hits then stops - I assume that if I turn on my soft limits, I can get it to stop before bottoming out or is there another setting to use for this - just thought I would pick your knowledge a little further - Thanx for the info Jon
