Dying PC options
« on: March 11, 2013, 02:01:06 PM »
The PC that currently has our MACH 3 software loaded on is about to crap the bed.

We have a new PC with the same OS ready but we are not sure what our options are to move the MACH 3 software.

Do we load the program from scratch and then copy some config files over, etc...??

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, install Mach then copy over your xml for the profile you are using. Also your licence if you are licensed, your plugins if you use any, custom macros, custom screensets etc.

Thanks,
I have found the download I need.
Where do I find the xml file and license file?

The xml and licence will be in your Mach3 folder on your computer, if it was installed to the default location it will be C:\Mach3
The xml will have the name of the profile you are using, for example if you use the default Mill profile it will be called Mach3Mill.xml, if you use a custom profile it will have the name of that custom profile with a .xml extension.

Licence file is called Mach1Lic.dat

The old PC has a MAC 3 Driver.
Do I get that from the site as well.

Thanks

When you install Mach it installs the driver, assuming of course you dont uncheck that option during the install. If you did then going to the Mach3 folder and double clicking DriverTest.exe wand letting it run will install the driver.
