Downloaded Mach3 .66 on new computer.... then tried copying old XML, and put it in the Mach3 folder.

That didn't work... none of my old settings are in the new computer.

I then copied complete Mach3 folder from old computer... put it in new computer... still no old settings.

Why isn't my old XML taking? What causes that?

I think I got it.

I uninstalled Mach... then reinstalled it... but unchecked XML's in the installation process.

My only problem now seems to be my screenset.

I'm using the 6axis screen. When I start Mach3 I have to always load the screen... plus the buttons aren't present on that screen.

The 6axisscreenset is in the plugins folder... the UTbuttons is in the bitmaps folder. Same as my other computer which works fine. It seems  like when I load the screen it's not pulling the graphics from the bitmaps folder?

How would I fix this?

Why is the 6 axis screen set in the plugins folder?  If it is just a .set file with the .set extension, just drag it into the Mach3 root folder.

I think your bitmap buttons are in the wrong location.  In the other pc were the images in the Bitmaps folder or maybe a 6axis screen folder in the bitmaps folder?  You just need to put the bitmaps where the screen set looks for them.

I've moved that folder all around. still no go.

I've even updated my graphics card driver. still no work.

This computer's graphics driver is 24bit... while my other one is 32bit.

I'll try anything... some suggestions please! I've been working on this computer for 2 days now... so frusterating!

Can you open that screen set in a screen editor and see where the images are supposed to be?  I'm pretty sure the images are just in the wrong place.  If you havent changed the screen any from its original download, can you not download the screen again?

I'll try and download it again.

I have it open right now... the buttons aren't visible... but they work (I know where some are... like DRO zero. when I click in that area the DRO does zero)

Yes, the place holders will be there but not the images because they are in the wrong location.
