Z Home Function Not Working.
« on: January 19, 2013, 03:39:20 PM »
Hi,

When homing the Z axis (g28.1z0) it won't stop when it hits the Z home switch.  X and Y home functions work fine.  The Z Axis green box changes to red (home switch on pin 51) in the Device settings of Pulse engine settings tab and of course is checked like the other axis.  Ports and Pins has Z enabled and is Active High since all switches are NC to ground.  All axis are setup the same in Ports and Pins.

BTW, why don't any of the home switches show activated in the Diagnostics panel when pressed?

I'm using Mach3 demo version R3.043.066, pokeys development 4.0.35b and windows7 latest.

Thank you.

Kind of solved my own issues.

I guess g28.1z0 doesn't work the same on Z as it does X and Y.  For some reason it ignores the Home switch where the X and Y don't.  I went through all the screens looking to see if there was an option to control this and changed some options here and there but it didn't help.  Hitting the REF ALL HOME button made the Z axis see the home switch and back off as it should.  Learning curve.

Also, the Diagnostic LEDs won't work unless you set them up in PoKeys mapping.   But then it appears under Ports and Pins the home selections become emulated.

In any case, the Z home works under REF ALL HOME.
