Noob screen question
« on: December 10, 2012, 07:39:01 PM »
Hello! I just outfitted my my machine with a cross laser and even got the button and script to work correctly, But I am having a problem with the screen, my resolution is 1024-768 on computer. However when I save my screen it has the large gap at the bottom even though I picked the same resolution when I started.

I though maybe I jimmied something when I changed one of the buttons however I reloaded my default and it did the same thing what gives?

Also how do you set one screen or another as default?

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Regarding setting the screen as default, if you load the screen then shut Mach down it will open with that screenset every time after that.

Here you are, its the big gap at the bottom.

The screen is staying as default now, first time I changed the page it crashed on exit I guess it reverted to the default, works great now!

If you don't mind one more question, I am thinking about adding a lathe axis and a tangent cutter, Would I be better off using an extra  1 axis bob and controller switching back and forth or a two axis setup?

I hope someday to be able to cut stained glass, Ive tried diamond drags before but the glass does not break well and the drags wear out after so many feet.

oK I am wondering if you have Auto Enlarge enabled in General Config, if you do disable it and restart Mach and see if it fills the screen fully. If not then double check you do have your monitor set to 1024 x 768 resolution.

Sorry not really clear on what you are asking with the new question.

Auto enlarge is checked.

Everything else works good it  just still the wrong size or something.

My other question is I am wanting to add two more axis's axeys? that will never have to be run at the same time. Is it possible to use one gecko driver and a single axis bob switching back and forth when needed, or do I need a 2 axis bob and 2 gecko drivers?

Thanks again for the help :D

Uncheck the auto enlarge and restart Mach.

Ha ha, I am still not quite sure what you mean regarding the two axes. If they are two physically different axes then I think you really need two drives. If however you were not to be using them in the same session then you could shut things down (making sure drive is powered down) and unplug/plug the motors on the drive and use two Mach profiles, one that would use one axis and the other axis in the other profile.
Is that what you are meaning?
