Set Tool Length Offset with our new Setter
« on: November 04, 2012, 10:13:03 AM »
Hello World,
This is to let everyone know that a new TLO setter is now available.  The "TLOsetter", is a very simple device, very affordable (introductory price of only $129, including priority domestic shipping) and very accurate.  Do you use 4, 5, 6, or more tools on a job and are you still setting Part Z zero for each one of them?  Work like a pro, take the opportunity to set your TLO's and make chips from there, it saves lots of time and really is more accurate than touching off every tool on every part.

Just got a great question about using the TLOsetter:

If you have a index-able cutter, and or a fly cutter how can you use the touch tool?

Here is the answer:

For any tool that has a cutting point lower than the center of the tool just jog in X and/or Y so that the low point (min Z) is over the contact point of the switch, from there on it works the same.  Start the macro, enter the tool number, and voila, the TLO is now entered in the tool table.

If you would like to view the TLOsetter User Instructions just let us know, we’ll forward them to you.

Andrew, the $89 model is a simple housed contact switch that the tool contacts directly.  It is highly accurate when used with drills and center-cutting end mills.
We have added an additional setter to our line that works for virtually all tools, large and small, also highly accurate, it uses an IR switch that is activated by the tool’s contact with a shaft that in turn triggers the switch.  The second model is compatible with ATC touch-off routines.
Both models use normally open circuitry and automatically enter the data directly in Mach 3’s tool table.  Please see our website for more details.
