Mach3 R3.043.022 to R3.043.066 license stopped working.
« on: October 08, 2012, 05:20:27 PM »
After installing Mach3 R3.043.066 my license stopped working. It is listed at the top as registered but will not run after line 500.
I copied my license file and XML file to the new install. Previous version was Mach3 R3.043.022 and it ran fine.
Am I missing something?

Sounds to me like you have a known pirated licence and Mach is prohibiting you from using it to activate the full version.
If that is not the case then contact Scott at  license@machsupport.com giving him your registered licence name and I am sure he will get it sorted out for you.

Hood,
I purchased a DMC-III desktop milling machine from Advanced Control Tech and your saying it could be a pirated licence file?

I would hope not but it could possibly be. Is it your name or is it someone elses name that is showing?
Contact Scott and explain your problem and probably best to give details of purchase date and name of licence.

Hood,
I just received an email from Scott and he says: "Yes, that is a pirated license - ACT is not a distributor..."
Ouch, after a month of rewiring the entire machine I find out the speed controller is for a remote control car, none of the cables were shielded and the license file is pirated.
Is 10:41AM too early to drink?
Thanks Hood!

Sorry to hear that, Is that manufacturer Chinese? if it is then you can be almost certain the licence will be pirated.

Looks like a California based company, but the items may be imported (most likely).

Dave

I particularly like this from their FAQ
"The CNC G code software is based on the well established Mach III platform to ensure the stability of the program. The Mach III has been widely used in the CNC community however it is not well organized and not recommended for the beginner.

We have modified and reorganized it so as to be easily used and enhanced for the display."

I presume the modification is to supply a pirated licence and the not recommended for a beginner crap is to hopefully steer their purchasers away from Mach updates so they dont get found out.
Arseholes of the first degree by the looks of it.

This is hilarious

"Q: Can the machine work for stainless steel?
A: Yes, a proper milling bit must be used and higher spindle speed must be selected in the program for stainless steel. ....."

I will have to try that on my mills as I obviously have been mistaken all these years. Heres me  thinking stainless required slower spindle speeds but an aggressive feed. Looks like I need to crank my spindle speed way up so I can work harden the stainless immediately ;D
