initialization macro called on reset
« on: October 05, 2012, 09:25:07 AM »
I am brand new , the machine is brand new
both us don't know we're doing
just received S1000 high Z from Germany this is my first cnc machine
So installed Mach 3 by dragging the provided XML file into Mach 3 loader and this is the message I get when I push the on screen reset button "initialization called on reset"
I am absolutely clueless what to do next but, just start over......It appears that all the particulars loaded into the program but, then I get this message....I know somethings not right.....
any body got any feedback on this....I have had this two weeks and I haven't heard the motors run yet..... ???

I think that message just indicates that you have Mach3 configured to call the Initialization string whenever you click Reset. It's probably not an error, just a message.

Yes, its just telling you that you have an option set on General Config to use the initialisation string on every reset.

I am up and running I want to thank Gerry and Hood for helping me
they were exactly right....the machine was ready to go and I mistook
it for an error message....

The first thing I did was to hit the limit switch in the Z axis and now
I cant do anything until I figure out how to reset that

if anybody gets that same initialization macro called on reset that's a good thing!

Two options, both are on the Settings page. You have Override limits and Auto Override.
Override will allow you to press reset and then jog off but any time you hit a limit you will have to do that.
Having Auto one chosen will mean any time you hit a limit you just need to reset and you can again jog off. It will be at a lower rate than normal jog until you stop jogging then the next jog will be at normal rate.
