CPI-LPT plug-in cards
« on: January 22, 2007, 04:56:11 AM »
Greeting, not that experienced with forum type of discussion. My problem is:-
The old PC had LPT1 on board and another ISO card for LPT2 which worked fine
until memory plaid up, machine started to make errors.
Since it was old PIII-750Mhz, it was time to update.

I been trying to setup new PC which has PCI cards for second & third LPT ports.
Tried few of them, Non of them work. On board LPT1 port is fine but the add-on cards are not working.

The ususal address on one PCI card for LPT2 is C800 and LPT3 is D000,
on another card it has has LPT2 - ECD8 and LPT3 - ECF8.

Has anyone any thoughts what could be wrong?

Thanks

Art is suggesting to use LAVA product, they work.
I have tried Kouwell from Taiwan, looks like they do not.
They work for normal printing or software key protection,
but Mach3 is not recognising them, I cannot get them
working for either output or input.

Any suggestions which other manufactures of PCI I/O cards to use?
Lava is not represented in Australia, I was hoping for quick fix.
Cheers

I have used MRI and Intek PCI cards and they work OK.

I would think the deal breaker is whether the card is a 5 Volt card or the newer 3.6 Volt.
Mach likie 5 volts  ;D
