Turning
« on: September 02, 2012, 06:11:02 AM »
Hi I have been using Mach 3 for some time on my CNC router however I am building a cnc lathe and would like to know what is required to draw and create g codes to send to Mach 3.

I use Vetric Aspire for my cnc router so is there a similar software at a reasonable cost for turning.

Thanks in advance
Ray

I use Dolphin Turn and like it. There is Hobby pricing if you dont use it commercially.

Ray,
Not much out there for turning. Mach provided, there is  the LazyCam Lathe module which I don't recommend and it was replaced with LazyTurn which is free but is rather limited to for doing a profle. Then you have all the wizards and NFS has a lathe turning module you can try but must purchase  a license and it is still not at a high level. Then there are number of low level softwares out there, some free and some inexpensive, but most are not worth the effort

Then you can start looking at stand alone commercial software and will find the prices very high.

I also use Dolphin and like it and would recommmend it also.
